Together, We Made a Difference!
What an incredible day! Thanks to the generosity of our community, the JCC of Idaho Blood Drive was a wonderful success, with more than 30 people volunteering on July 20, 2026 to donate blood during this emergency shortage.
Thank you to every donor who rolled up a sleeve to help someone they’ve never met. Your generosity is an inspiring reminder of what our community can accomplish when we come together to care for one another.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Taliyah Pinker, whose outstanding leadership and organization made the entire event run seamlessly. Taliya participated in the American Red Cross program - Leaders Save Lives. From recruiting donors to keeping everything on track the day of the drive, Taliyah’s dedication was instrumental to our success.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to Margee Sell. Margee has a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and like part of the family. Her warmth and enthusiasm set the tone for a truly special day.
A special thank you to Galit Pinker, who generously provided a delicious assortment of refreshments for our donors and spent time visiting with everyone. Your kindness and hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable.
To our entire Red Cross staff, thank you for your professionalism, compassion, and exceptional care of every donor throughout the day.
Spotlight on our Shabbat Dinner - "Kol HaKavod"

Kol HaKavod means “all the honor” literally, but in everyday use it means:
“Well done!”
“Great job!”
“Kudos!”
“Good for you!”
It’s a warm Hebrew expression of praise and encouragement.
At our recent Shabbat dinner, we enthusiastically said Kol HaKavod to the six young people who so beautifully and confidently read sections of our Shabbat program aloud for all to hear. It is not easy to stand and speak in front of a room full of adults, but each of them did a fantastic job. A very well-earned Kol HaKavod to each one of them!
What a beautiful evening of community, conversation, learning, music, tradition, and new friendships. We were so grateful to share the meaning and beauty of Shabbat together with more than 50 guests from across our community.
A special thank you to everyone who participated in the program, shared reflections at their tables, sang with us, and helped make the evening so meaningful. Your presence truly brought the spirit of Shabbat to life. We are especially grateful to the many donors who went above and beyond to financially support this event.

Our inaugural event was a big success! It was a wonderful afternoon at Sturman's Eagle with 15 people coming together in a warm and welcoming environment to share thoughtful discussion of the Torah portion, engage in meaningful conversation, and enjoy the camaraderie of good drinks and cigars.

Our First JCC Shabbat Dinner

Our first JCC Community Shabbat Dinner was a beautiful evening filled with warmth, prayers, joyful songs, delicious food, Israeli folk dancing, and wonderful conversation.
Most importantly, it was an evening of true community, with new friendships formed and familiar faces gathered together around the Shabbat table.

Professor Yael’s presentation was both informative and deeply engaging, weaving heartfelt personal stories with fascinating insights and important perspectives. Her warmth, authenticity, and dedication resonated throughout the room, sparking thoughtful questions and meaningful conversations. We are sincerely thankful for the time and care she shared with our community and hope to stay connected—and to welcome her back to Idaho in the future.
Equally important was the presence of our guests. By showing up, supporting the JCC of Idaho, engaging with the presentation, and taking time to connect with one another—and with the Professor—you helped create an atmosphere of learning, reflection, and genuine community. The energy in the room, the conversations before and after the talk, and the new connections formed are exactly what our JCC strives to cultivate.

Over 600 Attend Community Gathering to Hear Released Hostages Share Their Story
On November 9, 2025, more than 600 people came together for an unforgettable community-wide event to hear firsthand from released hostages Sapir Cohen and Sasha Troufanov, who courageously shared how they survived captivity in Gaza.
It was a beautiful and moving evening—filled with stories of faith and resilience, heartfelt music, meaningful gifts, prayer, and an outpouring of love. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended and helped make this night truly memorable.
Together, we stand united in hope, strength, and love—for Israel, and for our community here in Idaho.
Israel Independence Day 2025
We came together as a community—friends and families of all ages—to celebrate Israel’s 77th Independence Day with joy, spirit, and connection.
Whether meeting new friends or reconnecting with familiar faces, the atmosphere was one of warmth and celebration.

Hanukkah 2024
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you who attended, volunteered, and donated. It was a truly special evening—dancing, singing festive songs, eating traditional Hanukkah foods, and watching children light-up as they made crafts, played games, and watched with delight a Hanukkah play.

On September 1st 2024, B'Sasson Dance Group had the privilege of performing at Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel's Jewish Festival. At the end of the performance, all were welcome to join in and learn a popular folk dance.
